Let me share with you a bit of my background:

My fascination with beauty was sparked at a very young age. I remember going through the fourth grade weighted down not only by books and school supplies in my backpack, but also makeup, hairspray, brushes, and a large mirror. I would set up a mini beauty station behind a set of curtains and give makeovers to my classmates at recess.

My passion only increased with time and before I graduated from high school in my hometown,

I started working as an assistant at "MAIJA”, one of Latvia’s most elite beauty salons, in Riga. This is where I learned a wealth of different cutting and styling techniques, and worked my way up to eventually become one of the top hairstylists at the salon.

In 2003, I started my journey within the permanent cosmetics industry by taking classes at  ‘Long-Time-Liner’ Training Institute for Permanent Makeup. From there, I received my very first certificate as a Linergist – a Permanent Makeup Artist.

I opened my own beauty salon in 2006 in Riga, where I practiced both hairstyling and permanent makeup. To continue my exploration as a beauty specialist, I attended the Make Up For Ever Academy to hone my skills in makeup artistry. I received additional certification from the permanent makeup school "Nouveau Contour”.

Throughout my professional journey, my passion, love and dedication has always lied in the permanent makeup niche of the beauty industry. In 2009, I moved to New York and continued my career as a permanent makeup artist. I focused all of my efforts on developing my abilities and gaining the trust of my clients as a professional beauty enhancer. I received my certification from both the Purebeau Permanent Makeup School in New York and the Beau Institute upon successful completion of the ‘Corrective Permanent Cosmetics’ course. I am licensed by the New York Health Department, and your comfort and safety is my top priority!

Permanent or semi-permanent makeup also called micro-pigmentation is the process of implanting color pigment beneath the surface of the skin by means of a tiny, sterile, disposable needle to produce the appearance of cosmetic makeup or to enhance the natural feature of the face.

The purpose of permanent makeup is to enhance the natural features of a client and/or correct small imperfections such as asymmetric proportions, it is meant to be a natural looking beauty enhancement, that is why it looks softer and more subtle. Body tattoos use ink, permanent makeup involve pigments designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the technician to make changes to color and shape over the years as client’s natural coloration and facial changes occur.

Please make sure you have enough time to complete a proper permanent makeup procedure. You should plan on 2.5-3 hours in the office. This time includes consultation, paper work, proper numbing, procedure, aftercare instructions and pictures. None of these activities should be rushed. Follow up procedures usually do not require the same amount of time.

It is considered a permanent treatment since color is implanted into the dermis and can not be washed off with conventional face wash or makeup remover. However, it will fade over time and it’s recommended to set up a follow up visit once a year or every other year to do adjustments on shape if desired and/or for color. Frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors including: the pigment color used ( lighter colors fade faster ), bleeding during the procedure, iron deficiency ( some pigments can contain the iron-oxide which may be absorbed by your body as a supplement ), lifestyle ( sun exposure, saunas, swimming, etc. ), your skin type ( oily skin contributes to a faster fading ), the regeneration of skin cells, if any chemical peels come into contact with treated areas, daily skin care products used, and medication among other factors that may affect the longevity of the pigment.

Please NOTE that final results can NOT be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at a different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your touch-up appointment and make any changes necessary. Touch-ups are normal for permanent makeup procedures, with each new procedure requiring 2 visits. The initial procedure followed by 1 free touch-up procedure about 3-6 weeks later. In some cases additional touch-ups might be required and additional charges will apply.

A highly-effective, topical anesthetic are used for numbing before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure, as well as increase the chance of bleeding which in turn affects the color retention of a pigment in the skin. If you were diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.

It is absolutely safe. We follow the highest hygiene and safety standards, using the single-use disposable needles and supplies. This means that each set-up for each client is discarded safely afterwards. Procedural stations is thoroughly disinfected before opening and after each procedure during the day.

The pigments used for permanent makeup are FDA approved and have been strictly tested for safe use, a patch test may perform 24 hrs before the procedure to determinate if you have an allergic reaction which is considered rare. The pigments used in permanent makeup come in a variety of colors. Some of them specially formulated with iron oxide, an ingredient safe for the skin, your body absorb it as mineral irons.

If you regularly get your eyebrows shaped, waxed, threaded or tinted, please do so at least 3 days before your appointment.

If you want to get Botox done, you should know that it should be performed at least 2 weeks after your permanent makeup procedure and follow up are completed. Injectable fillers may be done 6 weeks

or more prior to your scheduled appointment. However, to avoid complications it is best to do fillers 6 weeks after your permanent makeup procedure.

If you plan to go on a vacation, you should know that it is highly recommended that you avoid sun and tanning bed exposure at least 2 weeks BEFORE and AFTER your procedure. If you show up for your appointment with a sunburn, you will need to reschedule. Besides that is a sign of inflammation in the skin, in addition as your skin exfoliates from a sunburn, it will take the pigment with it.

We require our clients to avoid any blood-thinning medication for a minimum of 72 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, Ibuprofen, Advil, Fish oil, etc.

Do not drink any alcohol the night before and day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume.

If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past, you MUST wait at least one year before considering this procedure.

Darker skinned clients, clients with melasma or a history of hyper-pigmentation may NOT be candidates for permanent makeup procedure. When making an appointment please disclose any hyper-pigmentation issues.

Some medical conditions may make you more susceptible to side effects. Your Doctor may want you to take medication prior to or during your procedure. To ensure your safety we require a Doctor’s release if you have any of the following: Mitral Valve Prolapse (MVP), areas of Vitiligo, Alopecia, Diabetes, Hypertension, Trichotillomania (TTM), Glaucoma - ( for eyeliner procedure only ).

If you have occasional herpes breakouts, then you have to ask your Doctor to prescribe the prophylactic antiviral medication such as Valtrex prior to the procedure. Failure to take this antiviral medication may well cause an outbreak, which in turn will compromise the result of your lip procedure.

If you already have permanent makeup or tattoo done by another technician, you have to know that those previously treated areas may require additional appointments or even laser tattoo removal.

If you are pregnant or nursing you can not have permanent makeup procedure during this period of time.

If you are having an eyeliner procedure: Do NOT wear contact lenses to your appointment, wear your eyeglasses. Clean contacts can be worn 48 hours after the procedure.

You should NOT use Saline to wet the eyes. You should only use Sterile Water. Check that the wash is not Saline, because it will fade the eyeliner out instantly.

If you have had any eye surgery, i.e.;Lasik, Cornea surgery, Upper or Lower Blepharoplasty, Lens repair, etc., you will need to wait at least 6 months before getting the eyeliner procedure, ( a Doctor’s note may be requested ).

If you have tear duct plugs, you are not a candidate for eyeliner procedure.

You must discontinue use of any eyelash growth serum ( Latisse, Revitalash, etc. ) 30 days prior to eyeliner procedure, having in mind that these products contribute to the fading of the pigment.

It is recommended to stop using topical or oral steroids ( creams or pills ), and Retin A/Retinoid ( topical or oral ) 5 days prior to any permanent makeup procedure. You must discontinue the use of all Retinoid products for one month after the procedure. Using Retinoid products before one month after the procedure can cause the pigment to fade prematurely. Consult with your Doctor before discontinuing any topical or oral steroid.

Your permanent makeup will appear darker and more intense than expected for the first few days. This will gradually lighten during the complete healing process. Eyebrows: The area may be slightly reddish and tender, so be gentle with your skin during the healing process and keep applying the aftercare product provided.

Eyeliner: Expect that your eyes may be swollen for up to 3 days ( like how you would look after crying ). Typically this may occur after longer wide eyeliner procedure while eyelash enhancement is not conducive to the appearance of swelling (depending on the individual). Some careful maintenance is required to make the swelling go down faster.

Lips: Your lips will look very intense. Usually the scab will peel off after 3-6 days. During this time, the color may look quite pale, the blended lip liner will show more color. Be patient at this time until the skin matures which will take about 1-2 months until you can see the final result.

Other less often reported side effects are difficult to determine due to the individuality of each person’s biological system.

Many people with medical conditions can safely undergo permanent makeup procedure, however often it is required to have a consultation with your Doctor, who may prescribe medication to protect you. This is why professional permanent makeup technician require a client history profile be filled out to access different factors that may contribute to your experience after the permanent makeup procedure has been completed.

We provide very specific post-care instructions along with the after-care products after your procedure. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a good healing process and to achieve the best results. The following highlights are the most essential recommendations that you should adhere to:

Do NOT rub, scratch or pick the pigmented area - this is a must, because you do not want an infection. Let the sloughing skin exfoliate naturally to avoid scarring or premature loss of pigment. To avoid infections, use clean hands or Q-tips to touch the treated area during the healing process.

Active tanning must be discontinued; both sun tanning and tanning booths must be avoided for at least 2 weeks after your permanent makeup procedure. Limit sun exposure as much as possible for several weeks afterward. Sun avoidance and use of sunscreens ( after the second week ) is critical to healing and retaining the pigment. Wear a hat and use a daily sunscreen SPF 50 or higher on your third week after the permanent makeup procedure.

Do NOT wet the treated area. You may wash your face with a soft cloth and antibacterial soap around it.

Avoid sweating for several days after the procedure, as the pores opening and/or salt in your sweat may make the pigment fade prematurely ( salt is sometime used in the permanent makeup removal process ). This includes no exercise, sauna, hot yoga and facial with steam.

Avoid harsh irritating products such as glycolic or salicylic acids and abrasive scrubs for 3 days before and 10 days after your permanent makeup procedure.

Do not apply makeup to the treated area until it is healed.

Do not swim until the treated area is healed, as chlorine and saltwater can fade or alter your pigment. Lakes can have bacteria, it is best to avoid lake swimming during the healing process. Even after the treated area has healed , it is wise to apply a barrier ointment such as Vaseline to the area before a swim.

Glycolic acid and face peel products must be kept away from the treated area as continued use could lighten the pigment.

Some clients may have pigment fade unevenly. Faded areas will be filled during the follow-up to create a more even appearance. Follow up appointments must be scheduled 3-6 weeks after the initial procedure.

If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal, please avoid it for one week prior to your permanent makeup procedure and after the treated area is healed, please inform your laser technician that you have permanent makeup and that area should be covered completely so that the laser would not affect it. Laser procedures may darken, lighten or discolor the pigment.

If you are planning to get MRI, you should consider that although numerous studies have shown that even for people who have large body tattoos there is little to no potential for irritation from it ( in the rare instance where discomfort resulted, it was localized and very temporary ). However, it is prudent to advise your MRI technician that you have permanent makeup.

We work with your natural face features to enhance, correct in a natural way ( if needed ), and highlight them. You may use any everyday cosmetics, in addition to your permanent makeup, nevertheless your face will look fresher and better even without it.

During your appointment, we will analyze your skin undertone to anticipate how pigment colors will fade in the future and we will mix special formulas to ensure color remains in the same tone. We will also mix pigments to ensure color blends well with your existing eyebrow and hair color. Your permanent makeup will eventually look softer as the pigment fades with the time.

Permanent makeup is a great choice for those who have: the desire to enhance and/or improve their natural features, allergy to everyday cosmetics, high sensitivity to eye lenses, visible skin imperfections, lack of makeup skills, chemotherapy after effects, hair loss and busy schedules.

The permanent makeup costs not as much as you spend for hairstyling, facial sessions, nail care, etc. The permanent makeup will last for a long time until some “refresh” might be required, therefore, it will not cost much compared to regular expenses for keeping your everyday look.
